Description:
This is a small program to unpack MED modules which were saved and
packed by the Amiga version of OctaMED. Well actually, MEDUnpack
can unpack any file packed with the supported formats.

How To:
So you have a few old OctaMED mods from your Amiga days which you packed with
the option "SFCD compression". The Windows version of MED Soundstudio cannot
read the SFCD-packed mods. You'll have to unpack them first. This is where
MEDUnpack comes in. The only way to unpack SFCD-packed mods used to be to boot
up your trusty old Amiga, run OctaMED Soundstudio, load the packed mods and save
them unpacked. Now, you can just type "munpack mypackedmod.med unpackedname.med"
and the file "mypackedmod.med" will be unpacked to "unpackedname.med". You can
now load "unpackedname.med" into the Windows version of MED Soundstudio.

Hint:
MEDUnpack can not only unpack med modules. All files packed with any of the
supported formats can be unpacked. For now, this includes only files packed
with PMC, the PowerPlayer Module Cruncher, which invented the SFCD format.

Supported formats:
 - SFCD / SFHD (PMC v2.0, the PowerPlayer Module Cruncher)

Requirements:
 - Windows95

Thanks:
 - MED Unpack uses the Starscream 680x0 emulation library by Neill Corlett
   (http://lfx.org/~corlett/star/).
 - Also used is the binary decoder from the lh.library by Holger P. Krekel
   and Olaf Barthel.
 - The SFCD decoding routine was taken from Stephan Fuhrmann's PMC v2.0.

Up next:
 - Support for StoneCracker 4.10.3 and PowerPacker.

Issues:
 - Might hang on files that seem to be of a supported format but are not.
 - For some SFCD/SFHD files the file decrunches to a larger size than given
in the file header. The decrunch buffer is far larger than the original
file to accomodate for this, but in extreme cases the program might hang
or even write to unallocated memory. The program will try to warn you of
such an extreme case before it crashes.
